Join The Doula Data Consortium in this invigorating discussion to share findings and insights from the 2023 Time Use Study to understand and better address the resources needed to support community doula organizations.

The Doula Data Consortium, founded by SisterWeb in 2021, is a coalition of partner-based community doula organizations, co-facilitated by SisterWeb and HealthConnect One. The goal is aimed to foster collaboration among organizations, researchers, and graduate students to advance knowledge and understanding in the field of community doula care.

Dr. Twylla Dillion | HealthConnect One

Twylla Dillion, MBA, PhD is the President and CEO of HC One. She brings 10+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector spanning philanthropy, Medicaid reform, maternal-child health, data analytics, and academia.

In her prior work at United Way of Greater Rochester, Dr. Dillion focused on using data and analytics across the fundraising, grantmaking, and evaluation cycle. Additionally, Dr. Dillion has conducted research on breastfeeding, served as program officer for maternal-child health programs, and worked as a research lead on a Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), the project focused on collaborating with Black moms better to understand contributors to Black maternal mortality/morbidity and develop strategies for better outcomes. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where she received her Ph.D. in Health Services Research, Policy and Outcomes, and St. John Fisher College, where she received her MBA.


Amber Pendergraph-Leak | BirthMatters

Amber Pendergraph-Leak is the Executive Director at BirthMatters in Spartanburg and has been a doula for over eleven years. She is a Spartanburg native and has accomplished many levels of expertise in her field – she is a certified birth doula with DONA International, a Certified Lactation Counselor, a Medical Assistant, a certified Community Health Worker and an ambassador of the SC CHW. Amber is a great representation of the CHW model and she continues to elevate in her role. In 2010 Amber completed the community-based doula training with BirthMatters. She openly shares how this training changed her life. Upon graduating from this training, she accepted a position as one of the first BirthMatters community doulas. It didn’t take long for her to figure out that this was her passion and purpose. Amber has attended over 200 births and is a leader within her community. She started off as a community-based doula, later became Lead doula and now she is the Executive Director. Amber mission is to uplift her community one birth at a time through advocacy, empowerment and education. She is striving for birth justice and equity to optimize maternal health.

Kendall Albert| Ancient Song

Kendall Albert is the Director of Research Development at Ancient Song Doula Services. Ancient Song which operates in both New York and New Jersey is a national birth justice organization working to eliminate maternal and infant mortality and morbidity among low-income Black and Latinx people. They do this by ensuring that all pregnant, postpartum, and parenting people of color have access to high-quality, holistic doula care and services regardless of their ability to pay. They provide doula training and services, offer community education, and advocate for policy change to support reproductive and birth justice.

Vishakha Ramakrishnan | Quartz Evaluation

Vishakha Ramakrishnan is people-oriented consultant with over 8 years of multi-sector experience in program evaluation and performance improvement. My approach centers around conducting empathetic inquiry to deliver high-impact and data-driven solutions. My expertise lies in utilizing a collaborative approach to create a positive impact on organizational performance, and I am passionate about helping clients achieve their goals.
