Open Statement in Support of Mamas First Act

HealthConnect One strongly supports the Mamas First Act, federal legislation that would expand Medicaid coverage for prenatal, delivery, and postpartum services provided by doulas, midwives, tribal midwives, and lactation support providers. The Mamas First Act recognizes what communities have long known: trusted, culturally responsive perinatal care is essential to improving maternal and infant health outcomes and advancing birth and breastfeeding equity.
